How to become the most visible in your niche (11 of 12)

Hi Reader,

Welcome back to my special email-only series: Highly Visible, Highly Booked: Upgrade your stages, increase your leads, and grow your income.

This series is specifically for coaches and consultants, and it’s the kickoff to my upcoming launch of The Visibility Shift. If you want my help increasing your speaking bookings and conversions through high-visibility speaking engagements, join the TVS waitlist here.

If I gave 10 people in your industry your name and asked them what you are known for, would I get roughly the same answer?

That is the kind of visibility I want for you.

Not random visibility.

Association.

I want your name connected to a problem, an idea, or a point of view that matters to the people you want to hire you. This is why I keep coming back to positioning throughout this series.

I think about becoming known in four levels:

Level 1: Expertise clarity

You know your area of expertise and the buyer you want to reach.

Level 2: Problem association

People begin associating your name with a specific problem you solve.

Level 3: Point-of-view recognition

Your market begins recognizing how you think about that problem, not only that you work in the category.

Level 4: Reputation precedes you

People enter the room already familiar with your work because they have seen, heard, or been referred to you before.

At first, you may simply know your expertise and your target buyer. Then I want you to become known for solving a specific buyer problem. Eventually, I want your market to recognize a point of view that belongs to you.

Speaking helps you build that association because it puts your ideas in front of groups of people at once. Then your other visibility channels reinforce what they heard.

  • You share stage clips on social media.
  • You appear as a guest on podcasts in your niche.
  • You build an email list so people can continue hearing from you after the engagement.

And later, once your brand is stronger, you may decide to build your own platform through a podcast, YouTube channel, or consistent written thought leadership. That is the progression I recommend in my roadmap for TVS and 1:1 clients.

Notice the order.

I do not think the first step is launching five new content channels. Start by getting clear about what you want to be known for. Then get that idea into the right rooms. Then use your content to keep reinforcing it.

Even if you do not have a huge audience right now, consistently connecting your name to the same buyer problem can begin building that association.

Eventually, something changes.

People start coming into the room already familiar with your work. They have read something you wrote. They listen to your podcast. Someone forwarded them one of your videos. They are excited to hear you because your reputation arrived before you did.

That is one of the success indicators I use at the top of my speaker roadmap. Audience members are already referencing your work before or during the engagement.

That is what becoming highly visible in your niche can look like.

Inside The Visibility Shift, I help you build the speaking strategy that gets your ideas in front of the people you want to become known by so your name starts carrying context before you ever walk into the room.
